To be doing this work with the girls is a deep honour and is always evolving, it is also tailored to the needs of the individual group.
The circle is focused around weaving a womb belt, this represents the mind, body, spirit and emotion, in each of us. We take time to incorporate a prayer, which is a point of intention for ourselves. We sing, tell stories, create nature mandalas, wild craft and take time to connect to our bodies and nature as the trust in the circle deepens. Gently guiding the girls to explore an inner wombiverse. All the while learning about the menstrual map and mapping and how we as mothers can model to our girls how to become in right relationship to our cycles. A place to ask questions dispel fears and deepen bonds, while we weave the threads. The mothers share their stories and experiences of menarche and we discuss the symbolism of little red ridding hood. On completion of the belts a special day is created to ceremonially adorne the belts to the mothers and the daughters. If any girl menarches during this time again a special day is created to honour this rite. Furthermore there is the option to come back together to celebrate the menarche of each child as she enters the blood mysteries (please note this would be an additional fee).
Furthermore this circle tends to form best around the ages 9-12 depending on the stage the girl is at in her developmental process. this I take the lead from the mother to determine if it is the right time for them to step into this important work. It is worth considering that girls can go from being curious to embarrassed and in my opinion there is a window in which the girls are available to this inquiry with their mothers, when this is captured it sets the tone of how they relate to their bodies, their menstrual years and can lay the foundation for how they explore their sexuality.
